What Is IPEP?
IPEP (Income Protection for Emirates Pilots) was formed in July 2000 as an ‘affinity’ group for Emirates pilots. TopCover was originally designed as a benefit of membership of a pilots’ association or union. IPEP was created to enable TopCover policies to be issued to Emirates pilots.
IPEP TopCover is now available to all pilots flying with the major airlines in the UAE – please check here for details of your airline. Membership is free. All insurance premiums are paid directly to the insurer by you. IPEP does not handle any money or take part in any insurance transaction.
IPEP is a source of information, and assistance to members at the time of claim. It is run entirely by unpaid volunteers.
Your Choice of Benefits
The TopCover policy allows you to select benefits from three integrated sections of cover:
Income Protection: Up to US$ 15,000* per month
Personal Accident: Up to US$ 500,000 for the Member and Spouse. Dependent children may also be insured.
Critical Illness: Up to US$ 150,000 for the Member and Spouse
Each section of the policy provides worldwide cover, 24 hours a day. The Income Protection and Critical Illness cover is specifically ‘own occupation’ and has been carefully designed for the unique needs of airline pilots.
Some employers provide an additional Group cover for Income Protection. IPEP Members can add to that cover and select additional insurance benefits as well. Loss of Licence policies or employer-provided loss of licence compensation is not affected by TopCover.
*Restrictions may apply to applicants who are aged 50 and above when applying for the first time.
STABILITY: There have been only one increase in premium rates since 2004.
STRENGTH: TopCover is an insurance policy backed by an A rated international insurance company.
SECURITY: TopCover is fully regulated, compliant and secure.
INTEGRITY: All insurance premiums are paid directly to the insurer. IPEP does not handle any financial transactions.
